Sliding Door Lock Replacement in Coral Gables
When a sliding door lock is beyond repair — stripped latch mechanism, broken key cylinder, or hardware that's corroded through from South Florida's salt air and humidity — replacement is the right move. A fresh lock set restores full security and often improves handle feel and smoothness at the same time.
Omega's technicians in Coral Gables and throughout the Miami-Dade County area carry replacement lock sets for standard, commercial-grade, and impact-rated sliding doors. We match hardware finishes, tune door alignment for proper latch engagement, and test the new lock before leaving the job.
Why Coral Gables Needs Professional Service
Coral Gables is inland in Miami-Dade County, so heat, UV rays, and humidity — not salt — cause most of the sliding door lock replacement wear. Coral Gables sits in Miami-Dade County, which is inside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ). Every replacement door and window here needs Miami-Dade NOA certification and has to stand up to 175 mph wind speeds. Mature tree canopy in Coral Gables makes it particularly vulnerable to fallen-limb window and door damage during tropical storms and Category 1+ hurricanes. Coral Gables (about 51,489 residents) is a well-known Miami-Dade County community we visit on a regular schedule. Our Fort Lauderdale shop is about 38 minutes south on US-1 from Coral Gables, so same-day and next-day appointments are usually available.

- The city's Mediterranean Revival architecture creates unique challenges for matching door and window styles to historic facades

Frequently Asked Questions — Coral Gables
What lock brands do you install as replacements in Coral Gables?
We install Truth Hardware, Assa Abloy, Milgard, and generic compatible lock sets. For Miami-Dade County HVHZ properties, we use only NOA-approved hardware.
How long does a lock replacement take in Coral Gables?
Most sliding door lock replacements in Coral Gables take 30–60 minutes. We carry the most common lock dimensions in our vans for same-visit completion.
Can you match my existing handle finish in Miami-Dade County?
We carry locks in brushed nickel, oil-rubbed bronze, matte black, and white. An exact finish match depends on availability, but we'll always show you options before ordering.
Will a new lock improve my sliding door's security in Coral Gables?
Yes, significantly. Modern keyed locks with anti-lift pins and hardened steel bolts are far more secure than the builder-grade locks installed on doors older than 10–15 years in Coral Gables.
